Veterinary Technician Licensure is coming to Minnesota, and MAVT is excited to partner with Hometown Veterinary Partners to support our veterinary community through this important transition.

Join us for an in-person Veterinary Technician Licensure Support & Community Night designed to provide information, guidance, and connection as we prepare for licensure to take effect in 2026.

Licensure for Veterinary Technicians will take effect July 1, 2026, with the application process for Licensed Veterinary Technicians (LVTs) expected to open in March 2026 through the Minnesota Board of Veterinary Medicine. While details will continue to be finalized, this event is designed to help technicians and veterinarians feel prepared and supported.

For history, additional information, and FAQs, please visit our Veterinary Technician Licensure page by clicking here.

What to Expect

  • Updates and guidance on the LVT licensure process

  • Support reviewing affidavits and required letters

  • On-site notary services for completed documentation

  • A welcoming social environment to connect with fellow veterinary professionals

This event is meant to be both educational and community-focused. Bringing veterinary professionals together to share knowledge, ask questions, and support one another during this milestone moment for our profession.
