Shoot some hoops?
Are you familiar with the phrase, “shoot some hoops?”
Well, if you know something about basketball, then you probably have heard this. It is simply asking someone if they want to throw some balls in the hoop or maybe play horseshoe. However, there is nothing simple about hoops if you are asked to JUMP through them!
I believe that each of us has a vital part to play in building UP and not tearing DOWN our Veterinary Medical community. Lots of intentional efforts are being
poured into the culture and climate of our workplaces. Kudos to all who are contributing to these daily efforts of intentional kindness! There is no place for rudeness, bullying, racism, implicit or explicit bias, ageism, and unkind or childish behavior by having people walk on eggshells or jump through hoops, struggling to get under someone's good graces. We are calling a "time out!" on that play!
On the contrary, "grace" is actually unmerited kindness. No hoops to jump through, and it's inclusive! Let's greet one another with a smile or a wave.
It's the little things that can make or break us!
Love is not a dirty, four-letter word! It is friendly and inviting... truthful yet kind... respectful and very diverse. Love seeks justice and stands up for the underdog. Love is good and conquers hate! Let's be on the winning team! Commit and recommit to love, again and again!
Life is precious and truly a gift at any stage or season. I am blessed to celebrate a few milestones this year, and one of them is having turned 60 back in May! If I could have anything for my birthday, it would be to resemble love and to show mercy & kindness to everyone my life interacts with.~
